JansenWijhe Energy and Artifex Innovation do in the framework of the project SCARLET-PLUS along with a number of other reputable companies (project partners) promising research into the technical and commercial application of processing wet biomass residues. To do this they have built a pilot unit in which sewage sludge and other forms of wet biomass, such as liquid manure and digestate via SCAR (supercritical aqueous reforming, or supercritical gasification) can be converted into green minerals and green energy. SCAR is based on chemical reactions which at high pressure and temperature take place between the water and organic carbonic acid compounds.
